UPHA Classics Incentive Sale

The UPHA Classics Incentive Sale will take place again this year at the UPHA/American Royal National Championship Horse Show on Thursday evening, November 17th, immediately following the UPHA Classic Grand Championships. Yearlings and two-year-olds will be sold in a festive atmosphere with food and drink as part of the Gala event.  The excitement of the Added Incentive Money has been a big part of Thursday night's Classic Grand Championships, so having the sale right after that is a perfect fit!

The purpose of this sale is to raise incentive money to be paid back on the national level in the UPHA Classics program, offering breeders a viable marketplace for their Two Year Olds and Yearlings.  Two Year Olds purchased through the 2011 sale will be eligible as three year olds in 2012, to compete for the incentive money raised from this sale. Yearlings purchased through the 2011 sale will be eligible as three year olds in 2013, to compete for the incentive money raised from this sale. The culmination will be at the 2012 and 2013 UPHA/American Royal National Championship Horse Shows, when bonus money will be awarded to the eligible horse that placed highest in the following UPHA Classics Championships:

UPHA Three Year Old Five-Gaited

UPHA Three Year Old Three-Gaited

UPHA Three Year Old Fine Harness

UPHA Three Year Old Park Pleasure

Prize money awarded in the UPHA Classics Incentive program so far totals $140,000, with 10% of that total being paid back to the original consignors!

Eligible Two Year Olds and Yearlings for the program automatically include those purchased through the UPHA sale. Yearlings will be presented through the sale in hand, and all Two Year Olds will be presented through the sales arena, in harness or under saddle, as they would be shown under United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) guidelines.

The official entry deadline for consignments was October 10th, but there are still a few spots available!  Visit the Consignments Page for more information about each horse for sale, with photos and video clips if provided.  A printed catalog will also be available at the UPHA American Royal.
